Currently back in cinemas in 3D, Finding Nemo was Pixar's highest grossing hit, earning $340 million world wide. Talk of a sequel has abounded since the film's release in 2003, but now it is more than talk, with the announcement that Finding Dory will be splashing it's way onto the big screen on November 25th 2015. No word yet on the plot, but it will come as no surprise that Dory, hilariously brought to life by Ellen Degeneres, will be playing a big part. Taking place a year after the first film, and partly set on the California coastline, new characters, including a few who play a big part in Dory's life, will be mixing it up with old favorites Marlin, Nemo, and the Tank Gang, amongst many other. Speaking of the film's announcement, Degeneres had this to say, "I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long. I'm not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating 'Toy Story 16'. But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It's got a lot of heart, it's really funny, and the best part is - it's got a lot more Dory."
Finding Nemo is one of favorite Pixar movies, and a lot of that comes down to the character of Dory. Putting her center stage is a master stroke, and I can't wait to see what Pixar have in store for us. 2015 is going to take a long time coming.
