With Fast and Furious well and truly stepping away from the street racing concept, there is space left for a high octane racing movie, and Dreamworks have stepped in with an adaption of Need For Speed, known by most people as Fast and Furious: the video game. Announced at the E3 gaming expo, it is made in association with the games developer, EA. The film is directed by Act of Valour's Scott Waugh, and see's Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul trading the meth lab/winnebago in for a custom built Ford Mustang as falsely imprisoned Tobey, who, on the day of his release, enters a gritty cross-country race to settle a score with the man who framed him for the crime he didn't commit. The film also stars Dominic Cooper, Rami Malek, Rami Rodriguez, and Imogen Poots.
Set for a March 14 2014 release date, production is currently under way, and this behind the scenes video has been released giving us a taste of what to expect. Consider my interest piqued.
