Your life is no longer in your hands, well it is, but you have to take it out of your pocket first. Phones have become something that are the last thing we look at before we go to sleep and the first thing we look at when we wake up. Everyday people walk into their local phone store and and peruse all the phones looking for something new, whether it be one of the new Sony mobiles or something else. And phones play a huge part in the movies, and we’re taking a look at some of the greatest movie phones ever!

Movie: Superman (all of them)
Lets be honest, with out phone booths, there was a pretty good chance that Clark Kent might have never got into his Superman suit. Supes used numerous phone booths throughout the years for a spot of privacy, while he got on his red underpants and then flew off the save the world. Incidentally, in Superman 2, General Zod and his mates blew one over with one unfortunate punter still talking on nothing but a receiver.

Movie: Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure
The second phone booth to feature here, and WOW! What a phone booth. Not your average phone booth by a long shot. This one was a time travelling phone booth. All revolving around Bill and Ted time travelling from 2688 to 1988 to ensure that the Bill and Ted of the time would pass a history class. And if tey failed, then Ted’s dad would ship Ted to a military academy in Alaska and thus brining an end to their band, The Wyld Stallyns and of course altering the future.

Movie: Scream
”Whats your favourite scary movie?” It inspired a million prank calls after creeping us all out, when Sidney entertained a lunatic on the phone about her favourite scary movie, which turned out to be Nightmare on Elm Street. Directed by Wes Craven, one girl and her friends find themselves in a real life horror movie, where that cordless phone provided so much creepy terror.

Movie: Matrix
While the Matrix movies have had a various collection of cool phones over the series, its the original Nokia 8110 that blew every bodies mind. The first time “Neo” uses the Nokia 8110 in his office after it was mysteriously delivered, made us all instantly want one. Whether it was the push button sliding keypad or just how cool and futuristic the phone looked, it cemented the Nokia as one of the greatest movie phones of all time. No doubt many of us all ran out and bought one and envisioned what it would be like to have Morpheus guide us through an office block, while being hunted down by Agent Smith.
