We're huge Kevin Smith fans here at The Movie Bit, some of us even got to open for the man when he brought his legendary Evening With show to Dublin (damn you, Vic!), so we were understandably upset when the man announced his retirement from making movies after he brings Clerks III to the big screen. He has been quite adamant that the second sequel to the movie that made his name will be his last, which makes his latest announcement on Facebook all the more confusing.
Talking about how waiting for confirmation on whether or not The Weinstein Company would pick up Zack and Miri Make a Porno he wrote Red State, Smith revealed he has done the same while waiting on confirmation from Bob Weinstein about Clerks III. Based on a story from an episode of Smodcast (one i haven't listened to, but once I'm finished here, I will remedy that), the podcast he hosts with long time friend and producer Scott Mosier, the film is called Tusk, and even though he is only fifty pages into it, he has made known his intetntion that the finished product will hopefully star Michael Parks, who absolutely stole the show in Red State. So, is the need to make movies too great for the man to actually stop, or is this just him putting his retirement on hold?
