More news from Comic-Con, and Joss Whedon took to the stage in Hall H to announce the new title for the sequel to The Avengers (which will thankfully erase any need for another name change this side of the pond): Avengers: Age of Ultron. Now, fans of the comics are now doubt over the moon about this, considering the villain (pretty much every fans favorite) it promises will appear, but for those who don't know their Ultron from their Iron Man, here's a little recap: Ultron was a highly advanced robot intelligence, created by Avengers member Hank Pym (known to all as Ant-Man), who eventually gained free will and turned against his creator, becoming a threat to not only the Avengers but the entire world. On a side note, Age of Ultron was also the name of a recent Marvel comics mini series, but it is highly doubtful this will be a basis for the sequel, since Ultron didn't actually make much of an appearance and time travel played a huge part.
So with Ultron as villain for the second Avengers movie, what does this mean for Thanos, who many assumed would be the villain ever since his appearance at the end of The Avengers. Two villains of this stature could be a bit much for one film, so it could be safe to assume Thanos will play a big part in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy setting him up to play a big role in Marvel's Phase Three. Thanos is a huuuuuuuuge threat in the Marvel Universe, and I wouldn't expect Marvel Studios to put him to side so easily.
