The latest film from Moneyball and Capote director Bennett Miller, Foxcatcher recounts the real life story of mentally ill multimillionaire John Du Pont, who murdered his long time friend, Olympic gold medal winning wrestler Dave Schultz, in 1997. Steve Carell foregoes the comedy roles he is known for to tackle something a lot deeper and meatier, undergoing a complete psychical transformation, including donning a a prosthetic nose, to render himself pretty much unrecognisable.
The movie also stars Mark Ruffalo and Channing Tatum, as Dave Schultz and his brother Mark, Sienna Miller, and Anthony Michael Hall, and has just secured a late 2013 release date in the U.S., putting it in contention to make a big impact come awards season.
