Originally shown at this years Comic-Con, the first clip from Harald Zwart's adaption of Cassandra Clare's best selling fantasy novel pulls double duty, giving us a taste of the story and showing off some of the action and (slightly creepy) special effects. From all accounts, the books are fun and inventive, while having a Twilight-esque romance at it's heart (hmm, I wonder why the film rights were optioned?), and from what I've seen so far, they seem to be capturing some of that with this movie.
Synopsis: When her mom is attacked and taken from their home in New York City by a demon, a seemingly ordinary teenage girl, Clary Fray, finds out truths about her past and bloodline on her quest to get her back, that changes her entire life.
