Since the announcement of Avengers: Age of Ultron, there has been a lot of speculation on who would play the titular villain, a favourite amongst fans of The Avengers comics since his first appearance in 1968. There have been quite a few rumours about who was up for the part, but now Marvel have officially announced that James Spader has nabbed the part, facing off against Iron Man, Captain America, and the rest of the gang when Joss Whedon brings us the highly anticipated sequel in the Summer of 2015.
Personally, I think he is a great choice, a fine actor with some fantastic performances under his belt, including his most famous role of Alan Shore in T.V.'s Boston Legal (holding his own against notorious scene stealer William Shatner), and last being seen in Steven Spielberg's Lincoln. Also, in his favour, he has such a unique and emotive voice, which will come in extremely handy since, being a robot, Ultron will most likely be a CGI construct. Marvel's casting has been really impressing me lately, and I can't wait to see what Spader does with the role.
