Based on the first part of the young adult aimed novels from Richelle Mead, Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters mixes in the supernatural and romance for the story of Rose Hathaway (Zoey Deutch), a half human/half vampire bodyguard to a princess of a race of peaceful vampires, the Moroi, whose life at their school, St. Vladimir's Academy, is put danger by the Strigoi, the evil, bloodthirsty vampires we all know and love. While many might roll their eyes at the Twilight-ness of it all, this adaption promises to be something different, coming from the Waters' brothers, director Mark (Mean Girls) and screen writer Daniel (Heathers). Those two movies suggest a different approach than the usual supernatural teen romance, something a lot meatier, with a hopefully much needed mean streak, and the below teaser trailer goes some way to promising that.
