With the movie set for release in a little under two months, some people may view the fact that Thor: The Dark World is undergoing reshoots with a slight bit of trepidation. A movie going into this stage, especially this close to release, is never really a good thing, but in this case it doesn't seem to spell doom and gloom. Speaking to Collider, director Alan Taylor revealed they are shooting full scenes that were not in the movie (something done before on both The Avengers and Iron Man 3) before to add in more of Tom Hiddleston's Loki. Not a bad thing, he is a great character, and Hiddleston absolutely kills in the role. Speaking of the reshoots, Taylor said,
"We realised how well Loki was working in the movie, and we wanted to do more with him. So it was that kind of thing, it was like, 'Oh, we could do this, we could jam this in here, because he's such a wonderful guy to watch do his stuff.'"
Loki isn't the only God of Asgard getting his role pumped up, with Anthony Hopkin's Odin also getting more screen time thanks to the reshoots.
Thor: The Dark World is released on the 30th of October in Ireland and the U.K., and the 8th of November in the U.S.
