When the full cast list was announced for The Expendables 3, it became clear that Nicolas Cage's long rumoured involvement with the franchise was just that, a rumour. But turns out that was a good thing, because if Cage was did sign up, we wouldn't be getting this amazing piece of casting, with Kelsey Grammer, far removed from his most famous role of Doctor Frasier Crane, taking his intended role of ex-mercanary Bonaparte (hopefully we'll get a reprise of his 'blown-aparte' line from The Simpsons) who helps Sly and his crew on their mission.
The Patrick Hughes directed sequel isn't the only action film we'll see Grammer in next year, with the actor signed up to play the bad guy in Transformers: Age of Extinction.
