Since 2005, we've seen a Pixar movie released every year. It's pretty much tradition at this stage, but that seem to be all changing next year, with The Good Dinosaur, Pixar's 2014 offering, being put back until November 25th 2015. The project had been reported to be suffering from story problems, and Bob Peterson, who came up with the idea for the film, that of a world where Dinosaurs never became extinct, and was credited as co-director with Peter Sohn, had been removed from production. Obviously, there needs to be a lot of work done so a later release date is needed.
Understandable, but the ramifications of this means not only will next year be the first Pixar-less year in recent memory, Finding Dory, the long awaited sequel to Finding Nemo, is giving up its release date to The Good Dinosaur, and being relegated to Summer 2016. However, this doesn't affect the Summer 2015 release of Pixar's Iniside Out, set inside the mind of a young girl, meaning we'll get two movies from the animation giants that year, as was always the plan. And as for The Good Dinosaur's vacant May 30th release date, Disney, not one to let a prime release date go to waste, have moved up the Anjelina Jolie starring Malificent, originally set to see the light of day on July 2nd.
