Coming from Alexander Payne, director of Sideways and The Descendants, comes Nebraska, the tale of a cantankerous father (Bruce Dern, who won best actor for the role at this years Cannes Film Festival) who ropes his son (Will Forte) into taking a road trip across America to get the million dollars he believes he won in a sweepstakes. The film also stars stacy Keach and Bob Odenkirk, who is known to most people as morally dubious lawyer Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad.
Shot in beautiful black and white, there is a lot to like about the trailer, especially Dern's performance as the quintessential cantankerous old man. Payne has a good track record with these personal, slightly tragic comedies, and I have a feeling Nebraska will continues that trend.
