Over the last few years, director Ben Wheatley has made a big name for himself in British cinema with the likes of Kill List, Sightseers, and a Field in England. Now, he is teaming up with another big British name, revealing on Twitter that his latest film, High Rise, will star Tom Hiddleston. Considering Hiddleston's super star status (it is hard to find someone who doesn't know him as Loki), this will no doubt be Wheatley's most high profile film to date.
Based on the 1975 novel by J.G. Ballard, High Rise sees a class war break out between the inhabitants of a luxurious tower block, as petty squabbles between neighbours escalate into violence, and civilised society is thrown out as the law of the jungle soon takes over. Shooting is set to begin on the project in June, after Wheatley wraps up filming the first two episodes of the eighth season of Doctor Who.
