After making his directorial debut with Hummingbird (Redemption for our friends in the States), Eastern Promises writer Steven Knight is back behind the camera with Locke, an ambitious single location thriller with Tom Hardy in the title role as a man whose life unravels during a series of phone calls on his drive home from work. This has already gotten great word of mouth from its festival run last year, with great praise been heaped upon Hardy. Movies set in a single location like this live and die by the actors performance and the tension the director can wring from the set up. Judging by the trailer below, Locke has that in spades.
