Once called How to Catch a Monster, Ryan Gosling debut behind the camera has received a name change to Lost River, which comes from the movies setting, a once idyllic town that is slowly becoming a place of despair, dragging the town's inhabitants down with it. The plot sees Christina Hendrick's single mother Billy swept into a dark fantasy world, while her son discovers a mysterious under water town. The first trippy image from the movie has dropped, featuring Hendricks in quite the bind, re-enforcing the comparisons of Gosling's work to that of David Lynch.
The movie, which also stars Saorise Ronan, Ian De Casestecker, Barbara Steele, Matt Smith, Eva Mendes, and Ben Mendohlson, receives its premiere at this years Cannes Film Festival, with no release date given as of yet.
