Disney chairman Alan Horn, to his credit, is dropping little tidbits into the mouths of us starved Star Wars fans for the last few weeks now. While speaking at the Bloomsberg and Tribeca Film Festival Business of Entertainment Breakfast (Christ, what a name) he said “We have to give that the ‘Star Wars’-ian look, if I can use that as an adjective — we need to go to these places.” That was in reference to recent second unit work in Abu Dhabi.
When it comes to announcing the starring roles, Horn said “I’ve learned to be very careful about ‘Star Wars,’” Horn said. “If I say, ‘There will be no skateboards in ‘Star Wars’… that gets headlines.”
While the budget for Star Wars Episode VII has not been finalised, in will be in the rang of $175 million to $200 million. “We need to give the audience … essentially a full meal in return for their affection for and devotion to this property,” he said.
Now, if he’d just give us an appetiser!
