In June of last year, during an episode of his Smodcast podcast, director Kevin Smith read a story from website Gumtree about a man offering free board in his house in exchange for dressing up as and acting like a walrus for two hours of each day. The story turned out to be fake, but Smith couldn't shake the story from his head, and it became Tusk, which puts a horror spin on the scenario, with Justin Long playing Wallace, a podcaster, who, while out looking for a story, runs afoul of Mr. Howe (Michael Parks), a renowned adventurer with a strange penchant for walruses. The movie, the first in a trilogy of Canadian set horror movies (it will be followed by Yoga Hosers and Moose Jaws), has no release date as of yet, but it is expected to hit our screens before years end. The first trailer trailer will debut at this years San Diego Comic-Con, but for now Smith has debuted the first, rather neat, poster on his blog. I've always been a huge Kevin Smith fan, but this new horror themed direction that he started with Red State has me really interested with what he has in store for us.
