Mark Hamill was on the red carpet for Guardians Of The Galaxy premiere in London last night and the internet has exploded, predictably. Speaking to the BBC a bearded Luke Skywalker said that he thought the original Star Wars cast would never come back “We had a beginning, a middle and an end - I never thought we would come back."I still can't believe it's happening and to go on to those sets that evoke so many memories, is just astonishing.”
Hamill goes onto say that it’s all about the “new generation” and that himself, Carrie Fisher and Han Solo are there to lend their support. And that the beard is “contractually obligated”.
As for the story, that’s still a closely guarded secret but JJ Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan have done a great job writing it "It really has the spirit of that whole [Star Wars] universe, in other words, the characters are so relatable and I think that's the most important thing because no matter what kind of special effects you have, the audience has to be able to identify with each of the characters.[JJ Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan] have done a great job in writing a script where you immediately understand where these people are and relate to them." Hamill said.
So whether the tag line for Episode VII will be “A new home for a homeless Jedi” we’re still not quite sure.
