Superman dies! Kicks the bucket. Chokes the cape. Call it whatever. Back in the 1990s Superman Lives was the title for a movie based on a version of The Death Of Superman storyline from the comic book. The Man Of Steel meets his demise at the “hands” of Doomsday. Kevin Smith wrote the script (which is considered by fans to be the most faithful to the mythos) and Nicholas Cage was planning on donning the tights, with Tim Burton set to direct. The project ending up being scrapped and Superman Returns from Bryan Singer flew into cinemas instead.
The crowdfunded “The Death Of Superman Lives; What Happened?” documentary is on it’s final lap as it’s just kicked off it’s finishing funds campaign (and has 46 days left as of writing this). The documentary features lots of interviews with those involved including Tim Burton and Kevin Smith and if the trailer is anything to go by, has some awesome footage of Nic Cage as Superman. You can back the project by clicking here and check out the trailer to the movie which asks what happened? It looks incredible! Best of luck to Jon Schnepp and all the crew in finishing this!
