This has been out in the wilds for a while now, but it's criminal that the teaser for the follow up to the visually sublime Irish animation The Secret of Kells hasn't gotten a bigger showing on the internet. So here it is, the teaser trailer for Song of the Sea. Taking its inspiration from Irish folklore, specifically the legend of the Selkies, it tells the story of Ben who discovers his sister Saoirse is the last Seal-Child, part of an ancient race who become seals in the water and human on land, and embarks on a fantastic journey into Irish legend with her. Featuring the voices of Brendan Gleeson, Pat Shortt, Jon Kenny, Fionnula Flannagan, Song of the Sea promise to be an absolutely beautiful piece of animation. Check out the teaser below.
No concrete release date has been given as of yet, but it is expected to hit Irish cinemas in early 2015.
