Get practising your blue steel as Zoolander 2 is starting to gather some traction. Back in 2010 it was announced that Justin Theroux will sit in the directors chair and now, speaking to Vulture, Theroux says “We’ve got a script for the sequel, and we’ve just been in talks again. We’re trying to sharpen it and hone it and, actually, I don’t want to jinx anything, but it looks like it actually might be starting to get up and running.”
From Ben Stiller’s perspective, it could be his next project as his acting calendar is empty after Night at the Museum: Secret Of The Tomb. However, the actor has a pretty full on producer schedule, producing Dodgeball 2 and Space Jam 2 over the next two years.
And as big as the cult following behind Zoolander is, the original was released in 2001 and one has to wonder, just how relevant it is now, let alone an appetite for a sequel.
