Universal Pictures Ireland have announced that Golden Globe winner and Oscar Nominee,Boyhood, will be back in selected Irish cinemas nationwide from January 16th. It will be available for viewing in 26 sites across Dublin, Cork, Waterford, Limerick, Sligo and Northern Ireland.
Filmed over short periods from 2002 to 2013, Boyhood is a groundbreaking cinematic experience covering 12 years in the life of a family. At the center is Mason, who with his sister Samantha, is taken on an emotional and transcendent journey through the years, from childhood to adulthood.
Boyhood won Best Picture, Best Director (Richard Linklater), and Best Supporting Actress (Patricia Arquette) at the 2015 Golden Globes. Boyhood has also received 6 Academy Award nominationsincluding Best Picture, Best Director (Richard Linklater), Best Supporting Actor (Ethan Hawke), Best Supporting Actress (Patricia Arquette), Best Original Screenplay (Richard Linklater) and Best Film Editing (Sandra Adair).
To date Boyhood has earned €415,567 at the Irish and Northern Ireland box office combined.
