Josh Trank's "Cronenberg inspired" take on Marvel's beloved family of adventurers is one of the more interesting comic book adaptions to come our way in coming years, and unlike the trailer for a certain clash of two iconic DC characters, this new trailer for a more grounded re-telling of the Fantastic Four at least retains an element of, for want of a better word, the fantastic, and doesn't get too bogged down with the doom (heh) and gloom.
Now, this is a darker super hero movie I can warm to. There seems to be elements of Trank's Chronicle subtly peeking through, and while the story may be influenced by the man who brought us The Fly and Scanners, the characters still feel like their comic book counterparts. Also, between this and Terminator Genisys, 2015 is the summer of using heroes as human missiles.
