Considering the last time we saw Jake Gyllenhaal he was as thin as a rake for Nightcrawler, the transformation to play boxer Billy “The Great” Hope in Southpaw was absolutely astounding. But it didn’t end there, as you can see in the behind the scenes video below, as director Antoine Fuqua put the actor through an intense training regimen to not only look like a fighter, but to think and move like one too.
