Created in 1994, Irish animation studio Brown Bag Films has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with the likes of Oscar nominated shorts Give Up Your Auld Sins and Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty and hot kids shows Octonauts, Henry Hugglemonster, and Dc Mc Stuffins under their belts. Now, they will embark on an exciting "new chapter" with the studio being acquired by Toronto based 9 Story Media Group, one of North America’s largest animation studios, which will open up the Dublin based animators to a much larger market and take them to the

next level".
Brown Bag’s Dublin based headquarters currently employs 180 staff, and, with the acquisition, they aim to create 50 more jobs in the near future. Alongside their Dublin studio, they also have a 2D studio in Manchester and post production facilities in Los Angeles. Speaking of the recently announced events, Brown Bag founder Cathal Gaffney said, “This new chapter is the next logical step for us in our ongoing evolution and will ensure that audiences around the world get to watch more of the great shows they have come to expect from Brown Bag Films.”
