Anyway, with that head scratcher out of the way, the official cast list has being released, and beyond those we already knew were involved, namely Felicity Jones, Forest Whitaker, Riz Ahmed, Diego Luna, and Ben Mendelshon, the new additions are Donnie Yen (Ip Man, Blade II), Jiang Wen (Let The Bullets Fly), Mads Mikkelson (Hannibal), and Alan Tudyk (Firefly) in a role that will be completely motion captured. What’s more we have our first official image from the movie, featuring Ahemd, Luna, Jones, Wen, and Yen, that gives us a great feeling of the dark time this movie is set in.
This cast is amazing. I am actually freaking the hell out at this cast. Jones impressed us at the start of the year with her amazing turn in The Theory of Everything, and the prospect of her in a lead role is one that has a hell of a lot of promise. Everyone single cat member has proven themselves, but it’s the trinity of Mikkelson, Yen, and Tudyk that has me most excited. Separately, I love everything they do. I can’t begin to imagine what they could achieve together.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set for release December 16th 2016.
