The English language debut from director Yorgos Lanthimos’ (Dogtooth), The Lobster, is certainly an odd one, featuring a future where you either find a mate or you’re inexplicably transformed into an animal and let roan the wilderness alone. Into this, comes Colin Farrell as a man who must fall in love or become a lobster for the rest of his life. Yes, you read that right.
Already garnering great buzz from this years Cannes Film Festival, this wonderfully surreal love story is unbelievably charming with a quirky sense of fun selling the bizarre premise. Add to that a great cast surrounding Farrell, including Rachel Weisz John C. Riely, Lea Seydoux, and Ben Whishaw, and this definitely one movie to keep your eye on.
