It was inevitable that one day we'd get an Angry Birds movie. What started as a fun puzzler on your phone has grown into a whole empire that dominates mobile gaming, has all manner of merchandise and a boasts a loyal army of followers that are completely addicted to smashing those green piggies.
Now, Rovio have teamed up with Sony in the next step of their bid for world domination to bring us the first in potentially a long series of Angry Birds movies for the kids. the trailer has finally landed for this one and it surprisingly looks a lot funnier than any of us here were expecting.
With an impressive voice cast that includes Peter Dinklage, Danny McBride, Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader and Maya Rudolph, the story focuses on a tiny island populated by flightless birds, who for the most part are a happy-go-lucky bunch. When some mysterious pigs arrive though, it's up to a bunch of outsiders with problems controlling their temper to get to the bottom of the pig's real schemes.
The movie hits screens next summer, and first impressions are that this may be a bigger and better hit than anyone was hoping for!
