The resurgence of Kurt Russell is a beautiful thing. With the long awaited Quentin Tarantino pic The Hateful Eight almost upon us, you would think we're getting our yearly quota of Russell and that glorious moustache, but there's another western on the horizon that could be every bit as good as Tarantino's.
Bone Tomahawk is getting a release in the US after strong reviews from a few select film festivals, and if it does half as well as indicated, then there's every chance it could make it's way over to these shores.
It sees Russell as a small town no-nonsense sheriff, who sets off on a hazardous journey with a rag tag group of companions on a rescue mission. The only catch? They're up against a clan of violent cannibals.
The trailer has just been released and the movie looks suitably tense and atmospheric. Bone Tomahawk also stars Patrick Wilson and Matthew Fox. With any luck, it's something we'll eventually get to see in cinemas, as I happen to think Russell is long overdue some recognition for the badass that he is.
