Expanding on the world built in 2012’s Snow White and the Huntsman, we have our first look at the newly titled spin-off/sequel, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, in the form of four character posters, putting the spotlight on the main players, namely the returning Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron, and newcomers Jessica Chastain and Emily Blunt.
With the original’s visual effects artist Cedric Nicolas-Troyan at the helm, The Huntsman: Winter’s War explores the origins of Hemsworth’s titular warrior, how he was born into the vast army of ice queen Freya (Blunt) and his breaking of her cardinal rule by falling for fellow warrior Sara (Chastain), while picking up where the first movie left off as Freya attempts to resurrect her sister, the evil queen Revanna (Theron). We’ll get a trailer in a few days attached to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, but for now, our first look at the movie is incredibly striking, and in keeping with the look of the original.
