Responsible for the last four Harry Potter movies, director David Ytaes is returning to the wizarding world with 2017’s Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them, but that’s after a brief stop with old school adventure Legend of Tarzan, with True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard strapping on the loin cloth as Edgar Rice Burrough’s jungle hero.
First off, it’s not an origin story, with the movie finding Tarzan living a gentrified life as Lord Greystoke with his wife Jane (Margot Robbie) and only lured back to the Congo under the pretense of being a trade emissary for the British Parliament. Secondly, Christoph Waltz is the villain. Always a good thing (yes, even in The Green Hornet). There is a lot of fun to be had with this first trailer, some dodgy CGI aside. This has Summer movie written all over it.
Released: July 1st 2016
