Way back in October of 2014, it was announced that Suckerpunch’s Jena Malone would be reteaming with Zack Snyder for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in mystery role. This of course been the Internet, the rumours of who she could be playing started flying thick and fast, from Carrie Kelly, the Robin from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns (a book this movie draws a lot from), to Barbara Gordon, the once and future Batgirl. Well, it looks like we won’t be getting those answers anytime soon, as Entertainment Weekly have revealed that Malone will not be showing up in the theatrical cut of the movie. Which, asks the question: if the movie is 151 minutes long, how could they not find the time to include one character?
But Malone’s character isn’t sidelined completely, as the publication says she will be showing up in the movie’s R-Rated, Ultimate Edition Blu-Ray, serving as an important clue as to the future of the DC Universe on the big screen. So, the movie isn’t even out yet, and they’re already pimping the Blu-Ray? Marketing, everyone!!
