Both Zac Efron and Aubery Plaza’a last foray into R-Rated comedy together may have been the execrable Dirty Grandpa, but there is something about Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates that doesn’t make me want to claw my eyes out and curse the movie gods. The feature film debut of Jake Szymanski (his follow-up to the absolutely hilarious HBO mockumentary 7 Days in Hell), a script from Bad Neighbours scribes Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien could go a long way to making this a whole lot of fun. Ditto the central leads of Efron, Plaza, Adam DeVine, and anna Kendrick who seem to relish all the crazy shit that is being thrown their way.
Released: July 18th (U.S.)/ August 10th (IRL/U.K.)
