Enjoying a Mel Gibson movie these days seems dependant on forgetting his crazy personal life, and just letting his recent foray back into hard as nails action movies wash over you. If you do this, you’re definitely guaranteed a good time. His latest effort Blood Father, coming from director Jean-Francois Richet (Meserine) and screen writer Peter Craig (The Town) continues that trend, seeing him play an ex-con who must protect his off the rails daughter from violent drug dealers. You can’t deny Gibso is on top form here, out Neesoning Liam Neeson in the aging bad ass stakes.
While there is no American release given yet, Blood Father hits our shores on August 25th.
