One of the most surreal moments in history we never really hear about, Elvis Presley arrived at the White House on the morning of December 21st 1970 for a meeting with President Nixon, the subject of which was to apparently make the King of Rock n’ Roll a ‘Federal agent at large’................yeah. This astoundingly real meeting is coming to life, courtesy of Hateship, Loveship director Liza Johnson, with Elvis & Nixon, which sees Michael Shannon and Kevin Spacey taking on the lead roles in a meeting of fantastic actors that seems far too good to be true.
The latest trailer promises the lead pair on the top of their games (especially Shannon, who seems to be channelling his rarely used comedy muscles), with Johnson playing the situation for the maximum amount of laughs, while also hinting at something deeper below the surface.
Released: June 24th
