The YA adaption craze marches on, and Catfish director’s Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman are diving back into the murky world of the Internet with Nerve, based on the novel by Jeanne Ryan, which sees Emma Roberts and Dave Franco become mildly Internet famous thanks to the popular online, Truth or Dare style game of the title, only for things to take a very dark turn when the game makers steal their identities.
While it probably won’t make any bold statements on our currently Internet obsessed society, there is the makings a nice little thriller, even it is packaged solely “for the kids”. And Dave Franco is endlessly watchable in anything he does, so it has that going for it too.
