While Marvel Studio’s Comic-Con panel may have been light on actual footage fit for those beyond the confines of Hall H, it made up for it with some mind blowing casting reveals. Chief among them was the confirmation of a pretty a-list cast for Ryan Coogler’s (Creed) Black Panther, with Chadwick Bose of course returning to capitalise on his scene stealing turn as the hero in Captain America: Civil War. Opposing him in the villain role is Coogler regular Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger, a mercenary who has his eyes set on destroying Boseman’s King T’Challa for exiling his family from their home of Wakanda. Lupita Nynog’o has been confirmed as love interest Nakiaa, but don’t expect a typical romance as she is one of the Dora Milaje, the deadly Wakandan royal guard who are also groomed as suitors for the king. They’re pretty kick ass females to say the least. Rounding out the main cast is the freshly announced Danai Gurrai (The Walking Dead’s Michonne) as fellow Dora Milaje member, and Nakia’s best friend, Okoye who is hinted at turning to the dark side and aligning with Killmonger.
