The Girl With All the Gifts, one of the most refreshingly original zombie movies since 28 Day Later, is shaping up to rank with the best horror of 2016. Set in a post-apocalyptic England ravaged by a fungal virus that turns human into bloodthirsty 'hungries', this horror from director Colm McCarthy follows a group of military survivors featuring Gemma Arterton, Paddy Considine and Glenn Close as they rally around an infected girl called Melanie (Sennia Nanua). Despite the infection, Melanie acts like a normal human and may hold the secret to the virus.
The Girl With All the Gifts is an emotionally driven horror movie that asks morally affecting questions of its audience. In The Movie Bit's interview, Gemma Arterton discusses the emotional and moral dilemmas that motivate her character, Helen Justineau, as well as the making of the film and more. Check out the interview below and make sure to read our four-star review here.
