While we’re well aware of the video game to movie curse, movies that make the jump to gaming consoles and PC’s fare some what better, barring the rushed out licensed tie-ins. Just look at the old Indiana Jones point and click adventures, the recent Alien: Isolation, and the closest we’ll get to a Ghostbusters 3, Ghostbusters: The Video Game. Now, another contender is stepping up to the plate, with Gun Media and IllFonic bringing us Friday the 13th: The Game putting you in the shoes of both the camp counsellors/cannon fodder and the hulking, hockey masked Jason Vorhees himself. Coming out of gaming convention PAX West, a new, a very, VERY NSFW trailer has come our way, backed by the wonderfully 80’s sounding XIII from band Crazy Lix. This new video puts all the focus on Jason (in both bag on head and hockey mask variety) and the gruesome kills he metes out to his helpless prey, using everything form his trusty machete to pitchforks and his own two hands. It may not be for the squemish, but this chance to take control of the horror icon looks like a hell of a lot of fun.
Friday the 13th: The Game is slated for release this October.
