Just one week after Netflix gave us our first glimpse of Finn Jones as Danny Rand in Marvel's Iron Fist, we've been treated to an intense teaser trailer for the series. The trailer was debuted at Netflix and Marvel's panel at New York Comic-Con, check it out here:
For our first look at the series, there's plenty on show here. A broody, cryptic opening gives way to some serious action, one glowing fist and a lot of beaten up bad guys - including one hallway action scene that suggests some of the intense, grounded combat of Daredevil.
Following the release of Daredevil, Jessica Jones and the recently debuted Luke Cage, Iron Fist continues the build up to Marvel's The Defenders. Building on the excitement, Netflix and Marvel closed out the panel with the biggest surprise of the night when the cast of The Defenders united on stage for the first time. Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) and Mike Colter (Luke Cage) joined Finn Jones from Iron Fist. Further blowing Marvel fan minds, Golden Globe-winning, Oscar and Emmy nominated actress Sigourney Weaver, who joined them on stage, was announced as playing a significant but unspecified role in the series. Check out Netflix' footage of the announcement from NYCC:
Marvel's Iron Fist Debuts Friday March 17, 2007. The Defenders will debut as an eight-episode event later in the year.
