In between Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.'s 1 and 2, Jame Gunn took some time out from directing to pen The Belko Experiment, a violent thriller, best described as Office Space meets Battle Royale, which sees a remote office building in Bogato the site of a twisted social experiment where the 80 Americans who work there are forced to into a deadly game of kill or be killed. The first NSFW trailer is here, promising a thriller full of twisted morality and stomach churning violence.
Coming from Wolf Creek director Greg McLean, The Belko Experiment was pretty well received at the Midnight Madness section of this year’s Toronto International Film Festival (a breeding ground for cult classics), and this trailer does lay out the story cleaning and clearly that audiences will be under no illusions that this isn’t anything but what is claims to be. Gore hounds will probably be happy, but there is nuggets of an interesting story hidden amongst all the blood letting.
