Gwyneth Paltrow loves to sing and that's no secret. In the 2000 film Duets she held her own with the legend that is Huey Lewis (of 'that's the power of love...' fame). She shows up in a new episode of Glee singing a cleaned up cover of Cee Lo's lovely F*** You called Forget You. And not being the coy type, Gwyneth decided to perform for the first time in front of a live audience at the 2010 Country Music Awards last week where she closed the show with a riveting performance of the title track from her new film Country Strong, with Nashville heavyweight Vince Gill singing back-up.
Country Strong, written and directed by Shanah Feste, who also wrote and directed the 2009 weepie The Greatest, is the story of an emotionally unstable country star (Paltrow) who gets involved with an up-and-coming young singer songwriter (Garrett Hedlund) while her husband/manager (Tim McGraw) sets his sights on a former beauty queen (Leighton Meester) who is making her way up the country music charts. If Gwyneth's performance at the CMA's is anything to go by, Country Strong will definitely be one to watch.
