Well, this is depressing. 20th Century Fox and Darren Aronofsky released a press statement today to announce that the Black Swan director is no longer attached to The Wolverine. The reboot/origin story/sequel is set to take place in Japan, where the Canadian super-hero faces off with a plethora of villains in what is said to be a "fantastic" script. Aronofsky's reasoning for not taking the job is due to the lengthy period he'd spend away from his family; as he'd spend nearly one year on location in Japan.
I've actually got to respect the maestro's choice here. A year to make a fanboy's dreams come true? Or a year spent making memories with your family?
...On second thoughts...make the damn movie, man.
