Cannes is fast approaching and for some reason, they're going ahead with it even though my invite was lost in the post. With the launch of the festival we're bound to see and hear a lot of promo for some of the films on show, and here we have a clip of the much-anticipated new film from Bronson director Nicholas Winding-Refn, Drive.
Ryan Gosling stars as a hollywood stuntdriver who also happens to be a getaway driver. The clip, which looks fantastic, is a bit reminiscent of 'The Hire' a series of short films directed by big names (including Tony Scott, Wong Kar Wai and Guy Ritchie, who even roped in his wife) for BMW, all starring Clive Owen as a getaway driver. You should definitely check them out. As for this movie, everything looks very promising with a great cast that includes Brian Cranston, Albert Brooks, Ron Perlman and CHRISTINA HENDRICKS (and Carey Mulligan, sadly). It's released on September 16, and you can check out the tense clip over on the Cannes website. Enjoy!
