The first photos of the remake of Sam Peckinpah's vicious 1971 thriller, Straw Dogs, have emerged in the latest edition of EW. Surprisingly, word from the test screenings is positive and director Rod Laurie (The Last Castle) has chosen his cast wisely. Taking the reins from Dustin Hoffman is James Marsden, this time playing an LA-based screenwriter who travels with his wife to her hometown deep down south. After a few days peace, conflict begins to brew between the couple and the locals, which will eventually lead to a crescendo of brutal violence. Filling out the locals this time are Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood), Rhys Corio (MacGruber) and Walton Goggins (The Shield).
