It's not a good time for people who are scared of the dark. No, home invasion movies have always been popular but recently there's been a wave of them INVADING CINEMAS. See what I did there? Oh yes, it may be a bank holiday but my wit knows no bounds.
Some recent ones of note include French movie ils, and scarier-than-expected quasi-remake The Strangers (which is apparently getting a sequel too), and of course, the Paranormal Activity series. This month we see the release of Insidious, which also features some home-based capers, and now courtesy of Empire, we have the teaser trailer for Intruders.
And for once, it's a teaser in the true sense, giving away very little but certainly making it look enticing. Clive Owen, despite being in a fair share of rubbish, is a great actor and from what we see here, it's looking good. Another reason to look forward to it is direction by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, who is currently prepping The Crow. He managed to make 28 Weeks Later a very enjoyable sequel when it could have been direct to dvd fare, so it's very promising. Check out the teaser below - Intruders hits cinemas October 7.
BOO!!!!!!
