Yes, because Fast & Furious 5 made $592 million at the worldwide box-office, Universal has signed and dated yet another sequel. Fast & Furious 6 will hit American theaters Memorial Day 2013, so expect the film to hit our shores within the same month. The news comes shortly after the studio announced it's taking the series in a different direction, moving away from the street racing scene and into a heist-themed series.
I really did want to enjoy Rio Heist (part 5's sub-heading), but I couldn't. The characters, as bad as they always were, became incredibly one dimensional and the set pieces were so nonsensical it made my mind bleed.
