That’s Stephen Spielberg’s Robopocalypse, AKA THE BIGGEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME*
He’s getting ready to shoot Lincoln now, but God of Everything Spielberg is also preparing a megabudget adap of the recent novel, Robopocalypse. The story is set in the future with a robot-filled world having to cope with roborevolt when a ‘sentient a.i. buried deep in Alaska’ tries to take over. Sounds very Terminator/I,Robot indeed, but this is SPIELBERG so that is fine by me.
The movie, which now has a release of July 3, 2013, has grown so much in pre-production that Fox is joining forces with Dreamworks to pony up the cash. This speaks not only to the size of the project, but the potential too – they wouldn’t spend the money if they didn’t see huge potential here…..
*I will almost definitely say the same thing for Avatar 2, The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises and probably X-Files 3.
