Yes, you read that right. Acclaimed directer Werner Herzog, famous for the likes of Aguerre: Wrath of God and Grizzy Man, has joined One Shot, the adaptation of the Lee Childs novel based on the Jack Reacher character, who will be played by Tom Cruise.
There’s no doubting that Herzog is a talented director, but he’s never acted before if you discount work on The Simpsons and some cameos. Still, he’s playing the main villain so there’s a lot of potential here for something pretty special! Who knows, it could be the start of a brilliant new career for him….
He can certainly pull off a villainous, ominous tone for sure, as you can hear below in the video of him reading ‘Go The F*** To Sleep’ (nsfw swearing!)
